Sans Suite (un air de roman)
To use a musical to tell the story of a breakdown – that’s a bold move! Sébastien Bournac chose to commission the writer Baptiste Amann, whose words delight in playing on contrasting breaks. Singing rather than narrating inner turmoil to break free from reality. Daring to heighten emotions and amplify the emotional impact to better move the audience. With an enigmatic title that keeps us in suspense, this play is written like a novel, comprising three chapters – Thomas, Camille and Adama – named after its three protagonists. Three perspectives or three voices that take turns in an attempt to tell this story, in a kaleidoscopic and sensitive manner. A musical that fully embraces its counterpoints. Slipping gently from an existential crisis towards the true joy of being in the world.
