Poème bleu

Macha was born on this island nation where, for generations, everyone has carried out the work assigned to them: the women dive into the depths of the sea to maintain the only source of fresh water, whilst the men work at the family factory. This predetermined existence leaves little room for little Macha’s dreams, and as she grows up she begins to wonder: how can she discover other landscapes, other faces, and live her life to the full?
Salt imbues these fragments of text, cut like waves, with a bittersweet flavour – that of childhood, from which one draws the strength to break free and choose one’s own freedom. And this carefree spirit, combined with the young woman’s boldness, becomes unsinkable.
This poetic and sensual play, for one or more actors, reminds us that the beauty of the world lies in the eyes of those who know how to see it.
