Année d'écriture
2018
Hiver is ten years old. She wants to blacken out everything that’s ugly and carries photocopies of masterpieces with her everywhere she goes so she has something beautiful to look at. She and her friend June are inseparable when they meet up by the sea in the summer.
This year, two boys come along to disrupt their games. One, Mayo, has arrived by sea; the other, Le Petit, is a local lad. As the spring tide approaches, conflicts and new friendships send ripples through the little gang.
Playing on suspense, and in a lively, cheerful tone, the play tackles political issues – new arrivals, the environment, solidarity, racism – and themes specific to pre-adolescence – love, courage, jealousy, exclusion, and relationships with adults.
