Mère prison

Twice a week, she gathers her courage, steels herself, gets on the bus, and heads to the visiting room. On Tuesdays, for her eldest son. On Thursdays, for her youngest. One is involved in a crime; the other in a drug case. These two expect everything from her—this mother whom they nevertheless shower with criticism. It’s only natural: when you’re in prison, you need an outlet, someone to vent your rage on. She accepts this dizzying role... Just like so many other mothers she encounters. Her third son, however, isn’t in prison: he’s waiting for her at home, hammering away at his video game console with rare ferocity. He’s not a bad guy, no, but he doesn’t want to grow up for fear of becoming like the other two. How far will this woman—caught between work, the bus, visiting hours, and accusations—be willing to go?
