Baptiste, 7, is crazy about his hamster, Bubulle. He spends his days setting up obstacle courses for him around the house. On weekends, Baptiste visits his mother and her new boyfriend, an American hula-hoop champion. He leaves his little companion with his father, who doesn’t seem to appreciate him for what he’s worth. One night, Baptiste catches him making Bubulle disappear. This marks the beginning of a father-son investigation to find the little animal. It’s an opportunity for them to regain a lost bond, but also to uncover a family secret.
Whimsical characters and zany adventures provide a humorous way to address the topics of death and unspoken truths. A text brimming with tenderness that entertains as much as it moves.
