Les Femmes de la maison

In memory of a former love, a man lends a house to female artists, who make it their studio for a while… There are a few rules to follow: they must leave a piece of work behind at the end of their stay, and accept the presence of a cleaner who looks after the house as much as she does its tenants. Across three successive eras – the 1950s, 1970s and 2020s – the position of women and artists – whether working alone or in collectives, whether feminist or not – is contrasted.
