Les enfants du soleil

Long ago, a tiny, feeble fragment of albumin sprang to life under the sun; it multiplied, it transformed into an eagle, a lion, and a man; the time will come when—from us, men, from all men—a powerful and majestic organism will spring to life: humanity! Humanity, my friends! Then, every cell will have a past filled with the great achievements of thought—filled with our labor! The present—it is free, collective labor for the joy of work—and the future—I sense it, I see it—it is splendid. Humanity is growing and maturing. This is life; this is its meaning!
