La Reine des neiges

Kay, an innocent young boy, receives two shards of a bewitched mirror in his heart and eye. He then changes his behavior, becoming harsh and indifferent, to the point of disparaging his best friend Gerda. Until the day he disappears, carried off into the far north by the mysterious Snow Queen. Gerda decides to go and find him at the castle where he's being held, to free him from the evil enchantment and save him from the clutches of the terrible queen.
Freed, freed... Forget the very loose American adaptation, and let yourself be surprised by this little-known tale written in 1844 by the famous Danish author Hans Christian Andersen: where a young boy, affected by a terrible curse, loses his childlike soul; where a young girl, triumphing over all obstacles and dangers, frees her bewitched friend; where love, friendship, generosity and courage enable two children to grow up.
