L la nuit
This piece, written as a nomadic and immersive experience for a performer, a bicycle and an audience wearing helmets, plunges us into an urban epic where heroes lose their way and heroines reinvent themselves.
A script based on research into women’s place in public spaces, conducted amongst organisations and witnesses of all ages.
Jana Klein and Stéphane Schoukroun, as part of the S’Vrai theatre company, regularly run scriptwriting and acting workshops with teenagers in the Paris suburbs. There, they observed a strong attachment to narratives centred on male characters and a reluctance to identify with female protagonists, particularly in films and TV series.
The writing of *L la nuit* takes this observation as its starting point to explore the relationship that women of all ages and backgrounds have with the possibility of taking centre stage in the narrative and the physical space.
A play written for one actress
