Kiskeya, aged 13, grew up making up a thousand stories about her brother, whom she had never met, left behind in their mother’s country of origin. On the day of his arrival, her world is turned upside down: curiosity, fear and hope intermingle with the anticipation she has patiently nurtured. Within this intimate family setting, feelings of guilt, the pain of abandonment and misunderstandings between two children shaped by very different lives come to the fore. Memories and legacies intertwine, caught between exile and the passing on of traditions.
