Je suis trop vert

At first very disappointed to be separated from his favorite classmates, in Marelet-le-Puiseux, a small, very rural town. MOI is put up with a peasant family who run a small farm. Here, he discovers rural life, which is far less calm than he had expected: he had expected to be bored, but now he has to survive in a harsh, rough environment, much noisier than he had expected, with early mornings, direct and brutal contact with the earth and the elements, and even (because there's no question of not taking part in farm work) exhausting and dangerous tasks in contact with animals or farm machinery. He is guided in this new life by Valérie, the family's daughter, who is his age, and who does not spare him in this initiation. But the rural world also introduces him to nature, the real thing, and he returns home with a critical view of the superficiality and mirages of the urban existence and consumer society where he had grown up until then.
