Encore un jour sans

On the outskirts of a large city, on the edge of some fallow fields, stands a shed where Yarold and Simon live. Next to it is a caravan in which an elderly woman, Magda, is battling cancer on her own.

Yarold is the son of old Baral, who one day returned to the shed with Magda and her adopted son, Simon.

It is Yarold who has been looking after Magda and Simon since Baral’s death. Every day he goes out to buy what they need to live on, and what is needed to ease Magda’s pain, using the money his father left him.

But the money is running out, Magda is growing weaker and Simon stays away, out of place, unable to fit in.

So what’s the point of killing? How can he make something happen, even if Anita is in town, in a bar? Nobody ever comes here anyway. So Yarold wonders.
