Dissection of a Snowfall is a dream-like fiction freely inspired by the story of Christine of Sweden (1626-1689) and the ambiguities of the European monarchy, both authoritarian and enlightened. A dual personality, impulsive and thoughtful, lover and lover, emancipated and tyrannical, the "King's Daughter" refused to bow to the demands of the power she inherited at the age of six, on the death of her father. Passionate about the arts and philosophy, and resisting the injunctions of her sinister advisors, she questions representations of royalty and the normative attributes of femininity. Between despotic whims and carnal impulses, deeply enamored of freedom, she refuses to accept her ermine-coated destiny, in this violent, cold kingdom, peopled by ghosts and frozen by ice.
