De terre de honte et de pardon

Young David, as a child, revisits his own story. He gives voice to memories of a family life marked by violence and bereavement, and recounts his discovery of writings, both sacred and secular.

In his notebook, a sanctuary of salvation, the child writes or copies out sentences. The act of writing thus becomes the foundation of his emerging identity, and an intimate dialogue unfolds, imbued with biblical myths as well as the simplest acts of daily life.

Constructed in waves, loops and ellipses, De terre de honte et de pardon unfolds in the manner of a psalm. This journey through a family narrative is also a journey through the legacy of the Scriptures.
