Arthur lives with his mother in a small house on the edge of a forest. Day and night, he waits for his father to return—a beekeeper who disappeared without a word when Arthur was still a little boy. His mother never speaks of him. Does he now live on the moon, as she often says? And what is his name? His mother won’t answer these questions. One day, there’s a knock at the door. Has his father finally returned? No, it’s a terrifying ogre, and his mother cheerfully opens the door for him.
