Six musicians welcome the audience to a rumba concert. Having just returned from a trip to the Congo, they are at a loss for words to describe what they saw and felt there. Between songs, they reenact the history of the country’s colonization, from the grotesque whims of the King of the Belgians, Leopold II, to the assassination of Patrice Lumumba, a leading figure in the independence movement.
