Young women. They lead unique lives, born into adversity and marked by hardship. The world, society, and the times they live in are not without blame.

They aren’t used to talking about themselves, much less having others talk about them. They doubt their own use of language.

If we pay attention to what they say and how they say it, we hear the story—if not the true one, then at least the necessary one, the one that must be told in order to be oneself.

The body of language is also their body.
