Celui qui s'en alla
Everyone expects something from Alexandre. Everyone sees him as a hero. But he feels nothing. He is indifferent to everything. He thrives on the frenzy and turmoil he provokes. One by one, he pushes those around him to the extremes of their passions and radicalism, whether political, romantic or existential. After making many promises and raising great hopes, he abruptly renounces all his commitments and abandons those who believed in him, leaving them to face the vertigo of their own lives. A variation on the Grimm fairy tale, The Tale of the One Who Went to Experience Fear, and on Dostoevsky’s The Demons, *The One Who Went Away* explores the emergence of control in relationships and questions the role of our fantasies and desires when they are the architects of our own downfall.
