By the lake, all the thirteen-year-old girls are getting ready to dance for the annual festival, dressed in sequined outfits. Two of them refuse to take part in this ritual and, in a burst of rebellion, flee by raft to the opposite shore. Those who remain devise schemes to cover up their absence and, in turn, begin to dream of the world on the other side.
Samaële Steiner presents a dreamlike queer fable that collectively celebrates the importance of friendship and the journey toward freedom during adolescence.
A vibrant play filled with sisterhood, courage, and hope that calls on us to dream big while striving to feel neither fear nor shame about who we are.
