Paul Moulin and his company take up the audacious challenge of transposing to theater the offbeat world of cult comic strip Zaï Zaï Zaï Zaï by Fabcaro, whimsical rocker and talented cartoonist.

The play traces the burlesque saga of an ordinary man. It all begins at a supermarket checkout, when a customer is asked for his loyalty card. The cashier calls the security guard, and an altercation breaks out. From that moment on, everything changes: the character becomes public enemy number one and flees. This love of the grotesque, tinged with British-style humor, is the fuel of the L'Argument company. On stage, the play takes the form of a radio fiction, flexible and open to the unexpected. Inspired by Fabcaro's absurdist, minimalist style, the actors adopt an expressionist style of acting, focusing on postures and bodily shifts. Passionate about sound, the company builds its narrative around sound effects, music and song. Through this surrealistic escape, the whole mechanics of a society in search of scapegoats is scrutinized, between film noir parody, media pastiche and acerbic criticism of security excesses. With an assertive burlesque humor and biting irony, the play paints a ferociously funny portrait of our contemporary obsessions.
