Woke

Ajouter à mes favoris

For her first theater production, Virginie Despentes invited Julien Delmaire, Paul B. Preciado and Anne Pauly to join her in writing to question the role of the writer in troubled times. On stage, Sasha Andres, Mata Gabin, Casey and Clara Ponsot, respectively their fi ctional doubles, stand before a blank page, mired in the grotesque accusation of wokism, flabbergasted by the violence of the times towards the most destitute and humiliating precarity...

Their paper characters come to the stage to make themselves heard - dykes, punkettes, heteros, a masterful mother and a magnetic Drag Queen... A path of joy then takes shape: in the face of the deleterious
and anxiety-inducing climate, a single watchword: this is where love begins! A leitmotiv shouted in chorus with the audience at the show's premiere in March 2024, as a call to still believe in it collectively.
