Treize

Add to my favorites

"Treize" (Thirteen) is a landscape play commissioned by Julie Brochen for the 13 apprentice actors of the Thélème Théâtre École.
An intimate epic in which each one agrees with another for this stroll through their inner garden; simple lines, exchanges not always cordial, they are "alive" and "real" and very quickly form a chorus! Girls and boys in a mobile eight-clos as they move from place to place. It's a bitter-sweet comedy that should reflect the state of affairs of a generation that has lived in the shelter; that's just emerging from adolescence; that wants to go on a theater stage, to be an ACTOR; they expose themselves, talk, exchange views, fall out, desire each other...
We listen to them and recognize these thirteen-there; these almost children who weave the tale of their lives, a tale that becomes, through the grace of theater, a powerful testimony to their young lives.

Philippe Minyana

"Minyana has generously agreed to give his name to this new group, and he has written characters for each of them, or rather figures that bear their first names, inspired by them but not only. It's an exchange, a meeting and a theatrical baptism, and it's very moving for me to witness this birth."
