Suzanne – Une histoire du cirque

Ajouter à mes favoris

1950s: Suzanne and her husband perform a breathtaking aerial act around the world. At a height of 10 metres, without a net. For each performance, they need the right, sure, exact gesture to ward off the risk. Double or nothing, every time.
2017: Anna meets Suzanne, a nonagenarian. Discovers her story. And wonders. About the circus of its heyday, the constraints it imposed, the freedom it offered. About a singular art form, demanding and ephemeral, in which we commit ourselves wholeheartedly, but which is accomplished in the moment, and survives only in the memory of a few.
In recounting Suzanne's story, and in rescuing her fetish act from oblivion, Anna seeks out what has withstood the passage of time. What remains of us, of our risks, our gestures, our moments of incandescence? What remains of our past beauties and perfections? Of grace and time, which abolishes the other?
