Between a skyscraper and an overhead highway, wild characters narrate, dance, fight and run out of breath in a frantic, suspended race through the contemporary history of a manifesto city, Algiers, revised and corrected by Le Corbusier. A dystopian city superimposed on reality. In this choral work dedicated to contemporary Algeria, writer and poet Sonia Chiambretto continues her singular approach of collecting testimonies and archive documents, which she shapes into a raw, musical language. More than a portrait, this work is more like a superimposition of layers of memory. It's about the black decade (1990-2000), the events of the civil war (1957-1962), but also about tomorrow. The mad desire for a better future is very palpable. Contrary to any didacticism, a thought in motion, a deep questioning, shines through.
