Reprenons
Let there be no mistake: Reprenons is not a revival. Rather, it is the continuation of a long-standing dialogue between an actor and a director. With the help of a few great philosophers, the duo offers a glimpse behind the scenes of the creative process on a theater stage—that curious meeting place where the process of creating and re-creating never ends.
In 2011, Adrien Béal and Arthur Igual presented a show whose title, in hindsight, sounds somewhat prophetic: It’s Too Early to Make Final Decisions. Fifteen years later, it’s not too late to revisit it... Complicity, intimacy: the duo has found its own unique way of creating on stage, and today revisits past works to better move forward. Drawing in turn on Kierkegaard, Borges, and Deleuze, the actor and the director explore together the notion—both central and not so obvious—of repetition. What do we repeat in the theater, where we are constantly rehearsing? And how can we create a unique moment every night… and renew that performance night after night?
