Nostalgie du réconfort

A one-man show that's both intimate and spectacular.
Inspired by stories collected from 32 members of my working-class family, the play questions notions of belonging, transmission and social emancipation. The hero, played by Grégory Fernandes, travels through tableaux combining personal memories - both fantasized and real - bathed in popular culture. Between humor and poetry, the play explores the class tensions, taboos and media icons that shape identities. Video, music and set design contribute to the creation of a quirky universe, where the intimate meets the universal, celebrating a simple, rural France that is often forgotten.
