Olivier Coulon-Jablonka and Sima Khatami present a new creation about the judicial system, continuing to invent immersive and documentary forms on stage.

What does a trial that hasn't taken place look like? Director Olivier Coulon-Jablonka and filmmaker Sima Khatami return to La Commune, where they co-created La Trêve, Pièce d'actualité n°15, in 2020. This time, as part of the Festival d'Automne, the two artists present their new creation Non-lieu, which immerses itself in the workings of the judicial system. For several years now, they have been following trials, consulting investigation files and taking an interest in what the justice system stages. Making visible what is not usually visible is one of the possible functions of theater. The artists turn to the Rémi Fraisse case, named after the young protester found lifeless in a forest on the night of October 25-26, 2014, and who never went to trial. The play begins in the dark, one minute after the young man's death, and reconstructs the events hour by hour. Like true archaeologists, the artists plunge the audience into the autopsy of a case that was never brought to trial, as they witness the investigation file being dismantled.
