Drawing on the research of kinetic art, Yvann Alexandre creates a body of work in which movement, volte-face and illusion are everything. Distant inspiration or point of metaphor: Charles d'Éon de Beaumont, known as the Chevalier d'Éon (1728-1810), also known as Charlotte, chevalière d'Éon. A figure of official diplomacy. And, even more, of parallel diplomacy. A spy. Or spy. Dancers play on false pretenses, blur the lines, subtly play their cards and reveal a game. Light changes in the blink of an eye, sound breaks in the blink of an eye. Between appearance and disappearance, between intimacy and deployment, feminine and masculine, solitude and a sense of collective, the piece is playful and the bodies vigilant.
