Nelvar – le royaume sans peuple

Add to my favorites

The orcs speak in rapper-style rhymes, the elves flirt with Shakespeare in an outdated translation, the trolls are franchouillards à la Audiard, the mages and magicians adopt a technician's language. Despite their differences, the inhabitants of Nelvar set out in search of a magical crown to restore unity to their kingdom, which has been on the brink of civil war since the death of the king.
Through this heroic fantasy quest, Logan De Carvalho seeks to reconcile the seemingly irreconcilable. He holds up a mirror to a France fractured by differences of class, gender, culture, religion... In this fantastical universe, to the epic sound of live-produced music, with plenty of humor and even magic, he asks how we can make common cause today.
Already noted for [Rakatakatak] C'est le bruit de nos cœurs, a dystopia set against a backdrop of social war, winner of the Incandescences 2023 prize, the author, actor and director continues his exciting linguistic work. Always on the lookout for atypical narrative universes, he leans towards Game of Thrones and Tolkien to better grasp the working classes, and their demands.
