Monarques

Is he about to take off or has he just landed? This crumpled-canvas paraglider has set himself a challenge: to fly from the Canadian Great Lakes region to the Mexican mountains of Michoacán. His journey will follow in the footsteps of the longest seasonal migration observed among insects: that of monarch butterflies, which are becoming increasingly rare due to global warming. At the same time, a young man perched on a wagon carcass attempts the opposite crossing, from south to north, to escape misery by crossing the "Trump wall".
At first, everyone lives in their own bubble. But little by little, actors Julien Chavrial and Jean-Erns Marie-Louise make their trajectories resonate and create shattering echoes on a set bathed in twilight.
After giving voice to the wounded women and men of Sorj Chalandon, Russell Banks or Svetlana Alexievitch (Mon traître, De beaux lendemains, La Fin de l'homme rouge), Emmanuel Meirieu returns to writing. He explores the human connection to nature and the cosmos. And builds a sanctuary by deploying his theater of fragility.
