Lucienne Eden
Lucienne Eden, a child of insolent energy, lives almost alone on an island with only Andris, an eccentric old man who raised her. She worships her mother, whom she never knew, and thinks she's a star in Las Vegas. One morning, on the beach, she discovers a boy her own age, Gaspard, washed up by the sea amidst plastic garbage. He's looking for his father. Little by little, they become friends. Lucienne introduces him to her island, where climate change rhymes with fantasy: a forest of giant broccoli, flying turtles, carnivorous pandas... This place, with its childhood flavors, is about to disappear: we'll have to resolve to leave it for the real world, that of clocks and responsibilities. Stéphane Jaubertie's writing is poetic and humorous. He offers us a metaphorical version of reality. It awakens the imagination, mixing absurd situations with playful, poetic scenes. A call to dream.
