Les Gaulois

It's first and foremost an actors' project: Olivier Martin-Salvan and Thomas Blanchard coming together for a "Gallic" performance.

We've been working together on various projects for some fifteen years now, and getting together and inventing this show together is a no-brainer for us. Our complicity, our knowledge of each other, naturally leads us to want to put ourselves on stage, as we play, for this particular gesture. We're looking for a moment of funny, inventive, surprising theater, starting from the farthest possible point: our origins, to move towards the intimate, even the intimate.

Both of us on a stage, opening up spaces for the imaginary. To confront our identities, a Beckettian sky over our heads. We want to place the small in the vast and create this theatrical object for large stages. With Clédat & Petitpierre, who will be designing the set and costumes, we hope to transpose a colorful slice of nature into the theater, like a fragment of landscape.

We see this play as a theatrical adventure, with the ambition to get off the beaten track and create an unusual, contemporary gesture. We want it to be a truly original, questioning visual experience for spectators.
