Le Petit Prince
Lost in the middle of a desert after his plane crashes, a French aviator meets a Chinese child, and to understand each other, they begin to draw. They share their view of the world, bringing out the greatest emotion in the infinitely small. An old actor crosses their path, perhaps the poet Du Fu? Through poetry, drawing and music, the men seem to recognize each other, fraternize, compose together a possible reality.
Jean Bellorini continues his collaboration with the Yang Hua Theatre team. He imagines a musical form in which singers from China's independent music scene take on the story of the Little Prince. François Deblock, a long-time accomplice, is on board for this creation, which will take place in Beijing in November. In today's chaotic world, where the voices of hatred soon render words of peace and fraternity inaudible, Jean Bellorini invites us to rediscover The Little Prince, in a different light: may this celebration of friendship and solidarity be a prayer for humanity.
