Le Livre de K

Add to my favorites

The Book of K is a dreamlike fresco about resistance in the face of oppression. The fable takes place in a snowy land dominated by a tyrant's castle. A family lives in the town below the castle. The mother is deaf. The father has disappeared at sea. Two twins, Alma and Mathéo, hearing∙es, grow up with their mother, cradled∙es by Sign Language. Faced with authoritarianism, brother and sister will tear each other apart. Alma will become a figure of resistance, Mathéo, of collaboration. They will meet a gallery of characters on their journeys in the face of the world's violence. Le Livre de K is an introspective journey through the labyrinth of writing. A poetic and political endeavor in which I attempt to speak of our world through the accomplishment of a simple narrative, leaving much to the performers and the poor, secular magic of theater.
