At the very heart of Transylvania, where Dracula is said to have lived, lies a small, inward-looking village. On its heights stands the ominous and mysterious Carpathian Castle. The villagers are terrorized by the strange phenomena that haunt the place. Intrigued, Franz de Telek, a traveler, comes to explore these lands. He meets up with Baron de Gortz, the last descendant of the castle's owners. The two men once knew each other because they loved the same woman, a magnetic singer named La Stilla. But she's dead, at least officially...

Director Émilie Capliez returns to La Comédie for this contemporary and original adaptation of Jules Verne's novel, exploring the various codes of the Gothic universe. Video, vocals and set design combine to evoke a mysterious, suspenseful atmosphere, where disquieting presences emerge. In complicity with jazz composer Airelle Besson, the director brings together actors, singers and musicians - cellist, pianist and trumpeter - for a truly sensory voyage to the heart of fantasy literature.
