Le Cercle de craie caucasien
Amid the chaos of war, Gruscha, a humble kitchen maid, rescues a baby abandoned by the governor’s wife as she flees. She bravely takes the boy in, protects him, crosses a mountain, and raises him with tenderness until, years later, the child’s biological mother reappears. Inspired by the parable of Solomon’s judgment, Damien Mongin and the Théâtre Pôle Nord have adapted this story for the TnS Galas. They employ a framework designed to include various segments of society, in order to give a voice to those excluded from public discourse. For this “show with a hundred faces,” the questions are shared with the workers at Altaïr, a vocational integration company headquartered in Meinau. An epic production, brought to life by a mix of professional and amateur performers, that powerfully reconnects with the essence of Brechtian theater.
