L’Affaire « L.ex.π.Re »
It all begins when Max receives a surprising package, to say the least. Inside, he finds a copy of Phèdre, with a single line highlighted in Stabilo: "Elle expire". He'd always thought this kind of book wasn't for him. When he read this tragedy, he had no idea that it would change his life.
Métilde Weyergans and Samuel Hercule reappropriate tales, monuments of theater or mythical figures of literature and turn them into ciné-spectacles. Their new creation, inspired by Jean Racine's Phèdre, simultaneously tells two stories in an ingenious scenic device. Spectators, on either side of a screened stage, follow Natacha Wouters' day at the theater as she prepares to perform Phèdre, a day threatened by imminent peril, and the nocturnal wanderings of Max, a mysterious man who moves like a shadow from the wastelands to the upper class. Between these two beings that everything separates, there is "L.ex.π.Re", an invisible thread that never stops shortening.
