La Place de l'autre & Ici ou ailleurs

The two plays are linked by a central character: the author. Yet the main theme of the show isn`t writing. In each case, it`s a writer with or without inspiration, so it`s the heart of HIS stories that interests us. The choice of this character serves above all to link the two plays. In the first, a dialogue worthy of a cross between Ionesco`s La Leçon and Beckett`s Fin de partie. An exercise in style where we see the characters take flight and free themselves from the author, emancipating themselves. In the second, writing becomes more challenging, this time creating a story without models. In this case, the author takes on a more prominent role, establishing an intimate relationship with the audience and sharing his or her questions and doubts. The characters, for their part, live the story imposed on them as best they can, sometimes trying to distance themselves from it, sometimes trying to get closer to it.
I took the approach that, apart from the author, the other actors in the play are characters in their own right, as if we were entering his head for an hour and a quarter. Anything is possible: an imaginary place "between a train station and a beach", several locations on the same stage, several temporalities, jumps in time and flashbacks. Once this is determined, everyone can make their own journey through this very special space/time.
You could say that these pieces are "youth pieces"
