In this grand political and musical fresco by Abdelwaheb Sefsaf, three peoples, three revolts, three continents: the Paris Commune (1871), the Mokrani revolt in Algeria (1871) and the Kanak uprising in New Caledonia (1878). The author and director presents an epic tale, skilfully documented, in which languages and histories respond to each other.

Kaldûn is the Arabic name for New Caledonia, a territory to which Kabyle populations were displaced. In this meticulous interweaving, all the colonialist exactions are brought to light. Slam, hip hop, song and theater link each of these stories, which are intended to be faithful to reality.

On stage, the nine musicians of the early music ensemble, the five actors and the formidable dancer and Kanak slammer, simanë Wenethem, transcend this unprecedented artistic and political gesture and offer a musical spectacle for the general public.
