Intimacy
Florentin Ginot possesses the art of interference. His encounter with a krump prodigy triggered the idea of an alchemy between this dance born in Los Angeles in the early 2000s and a repertoire of early music from the Renaissance or the 17th century. On the music side, then, traditional Scottish, Irish or Galician music. On the dance side, stomps, chest pops, armswings. Germain Zambi, aka JR Snipper on the international circuit, excels in these explosive movements concluded, all emotion tucked away, by a placid expression. Krump is danced inside a circle. It is in this circular figure that Ginot captures the echo of popular music that has spanned the centuries, to the ear. With his double bass, whose neck he traverses with the agility of a violinist, he adds a Marin Marais, a clean composition and a zest of electronics, to refine this confounding symbiosis between two exceptional soloists.
