Legendary Horizon
Elijah comes from a hamlet at the far end of the river, lost in the mangroves. He used to make a living fishing for wild shrimp there, but industrial operators—who follow no rules—have jeopardized his livelihood and income. One day, feeling threatened, he decides to leave his country. On the other side of the sea, after a grueling journey, Elijah finds himself up against the system: he’ll have to wade through a mountain of paperwork and questions. Like so many others, he has no choice: far from his loved ones, he must build a future for himself while dealing with prejudice. Yet the administrative absurdities, the endless repetition of his story, the loss of his file, the nights spent on the city’s sidewalks, and even the mood swings of overworked civil servants will not get the better of him. The collapse will come from the institution itself—or rather, from its agents, upon whom it places the burden of the chaotic journey imposed on migrants without genuine support or discernment.
