After two solo theatrical musings (Au milieu du désordre – 2003, La bobine de Ruhmkorff – 2013), this third work by and starring Pierre Meunier revolves around gears and our relationship with machines.

This time, it is the sight of a church clock at the center of the stage—with its gilded bronze gears and stone weights—that sparks a line of inquiry that is at once serious and lighthearted, contradictory and unexpected, punctuated by the ticking of the monumental mechanism.

As his thoughts turn to gears, Pierre Meunier engages in experiments in applied mechanics, attempting to shed light on our hyperbolic hunger for speed, precision, and predictability.
The imagination stirred by the immediacy of this delightful confrontation begins, in turn, to ring with poetic, political, philosophical, and even post-mechanical resonances.
