Diptyque : Nos paysages mineurs / En finir avec leur histoire
Marc Lainé traces the trajectory of a couple between the 70s and 1992, over the course of two shows. What remains of their youthful ideals at the end of the journey? A musical tragi-comedy as poignant as a major motion picture.
Liliane and Paul meet on a train. Everything opposes them, but they experience their love as a possible revolution in these times of post-May 1968 political turmoil. We meet up with them again 17 years later, for a night-time stroll through Paris and a heartbreakingly intimate and historic reckoning. Using a live-filming set-up, favoring close proximity to the characters against a backdrop of melancholy landscapes, Marc Lainé invents a funny, cruel show, subtly dialogued and performed, punctuated by music composed and performed by cellist Vincent Segal.
