Assigner, la fabrique des corps
We all have bodies, but from a very early age, they become part of a predefined, normative narrative that shapes our actions, desires, and identities. This performance explores our relationship with the body at different stages of life through a form of physical theater.
Straddling the line between fiction and reality, the performers move through a minimalist stage space, blending storytelling, burlesque, grotesque figures, and drag aesthetics. Without any didactic intent, the play humorously and provocatively explores the social imperatives that define bodies: being male or female, young or old, productive or desirable... Drawing on contemporary thought, it reveals the norm as a political fiction and opens up pathways to other possible narratives. Through direct engagement with the audience, the stage becomes a space for lively dialogue where alternative, joyful, and liberating “once upon a times” are invented.
