In a Kyiv hospital, a soldier is bedridden, unrecognizable, amnesic. At his bedside, a woman watches over him. She introduces herself to the nursing staff as his wife, Romane. She asserts emphatically that he is Bohdan, the man she has been searching for for months with the help of her virtual community, moving heaven and earth. By conjuring up images of a distant past, of the happiness of their life in the countryside, by exhuming the love story of grandmother Oulyana, she provokes troubled, hallucinatory reminiscences in Bohdan. Bohdan's history and that of Ukraine become intertwined. A question then emerges: how to heal the scarred memory of an entire people?
