A funny and moving one-man show, somewhere between theater and stand-up

Théo Askolovitch was just 22 when he was diagnosed with cancer. Far from feeling sorry for himself, the actor tells us, with a great deal of self-mockery, about his battle with the disease. From diagnosis to remission, sitting in front of the audience, he explains what sent him to hospital. Day after day, he laughs to pretend he's not afraid. He scolds his loved ones, but keeps them up late at night. He remembers his mother, who left when he was fourteen. He wishes France's victory in the soccer World Cup would cure him as well as his chemotherapy.

This play, created with actor François Rollin, is full of humor, hope and sincerity. Without glossing over his difficulties, we follow him through his treatments, doubts and reliefs. For him, these are pretexts for talking about "us". It's not just the cancer that's important to the actor, but also, and above all, his road to recovery. This journey is a framework for evoking themes that concern us all: life, death, family, love. And, of course, Théo's passion for soccer.
