Julie Botet, choreographer and dancer, began her career at La Manufacture Vendetta Mathea (Aurillac) before joining the school of the Centre Chorégraphique National de Roubaix under Carolyn Carlson and then Olivier Dubois. At the same time, in 2015, she obtained a degree in Art-Dance from the Université Lille 3. In 2016, she joined CobosMika Seed's training program in Catalonia for a year, where she met many Catalan and European choreographers. In Catalonia, she is introduced to video-dance/performance by joining the Palamos Hospital collective. She then created NEUS and KISS KISS. On her return from Spain, she created NANA, a short video shot in Roubaix. Also in 2016, Julie joined Les Sapharides, which she now co-directs with Mel Favre. Together they sign Dolores (2019), PUCIE (2020) and Jumelles (2022). From June 2019, the artist initiates his first solo project, Bébé. As part of the creation of this solo, she takes part in the ATLAS 2022 program for young choreographers at the Impulstanz Festival (Vienna, Austria) under the eye of playwright Guy Cools, then coach of the ATLAS group. In 2022, she joined the Laboratoire Chorégraphique De l'Impertinence (Sète, France) directed by Dora Penchev and Zoé Lakhnati. While there, she took part in two collective creations: Pauline Pauline (2022) and GUSH IS GREAT (2023) - the latter of which was selected for the Danse Elargie 2024 competition at the Théâtre de la Ville in Paris, winning second prize from the Jury as well as the Prix du Jury Jeunes. Today, Julie is a dancer-performer with Les Sapharides and La Ruse - Bérénice Legrand and Marinette Dozeville, and also works as a choreographer for the Lacavale collective, Cie Proteo - Louise Wailly, Cie l'Impatiente - Antoine Domingos, l'Escamoteuse - Pauline Fontaine, Cie A-CO - Agathe Coquelle, and Cie SUMO - Mélissa Guex (Switzerland).
