et vos corps seront caillasses

Drawing inspiration from the struggles in Kinshasa and Brussels alike, Joëlle Sambi’s slam poetry is a powerful flow that overcomes the violence perpetrated by all systems of domination. A flow that grips and strips away until it reveals the contours of a world that would place justice and joy at the centre of our lives.

Crush the pain, torture it, tear apart the passions Dissect your soul
Explode, expose!
Expose what remains of your humanity
The remnants of your pride
Clear away the heart and its tatters
Clear away, look!
Look
It casts brilliant reflections on the grey walls of the city
