Les liaisons dangereuses

The Marquise de Merteuil solicits her former lover, the Vicomte de Valmont, to propose an immoral challenge: she wishes to avenge a former infidelity by corrupting the young Cécile de Volanges, fresh out of the convent, by stripping her of her virginity before marriage. Valmont, meanwhile, has set his sights on seducing Madame de Tourvel, a pious young married woman. The plans of the two monsters will prove far more harmful than they imagined... Love is no laughing matter, and some dangerous liaisons can prove fatal.
