Au bout de ma langue
How do you leave one culture for another?
How do you dive into a whole new world, at the risk of losing yourself in it?
Taym was 9 when he arrived in France, fleeing the violence of his homeland. With his parents, he has left behind his culture, his roots, his language. So when he arrives here, French is everywhere, all the time, all around him. Never sentences, never meaning, just noise. One day, Taym closes his mouth and shuts up. Why talk at all? No one would understand him anyway. Faced with the little boy's silence, his father, his mother, his grandmother, his classmates, his teacher and then a teacher try to help him. Each in their own way, they guide him along the path to a new language that would add to the old, without replacing it.
